It was time for another contemporary number and this time, the couple wasn’t arguing and pushing each other around. Stacey Tookey said that it was about slowing down and enjoying life, and Carly Blaney and Rudy Abreu showed that perfectly. The pair really had a connection and Mary said the “passion poured out all over the stage.” While Nigel complimented Carly on her technique, he told Rudy that he was so darned likeable. I think that translates to “Rudy, you’d better work really hard to improve your technique.”.

There was one more couple that I haven’t mentioned, the last couple, What a position to be in — following the best one of the night! Tanisha Belnap and Nick Garcia did a great cha-cha-cha, and Mary really liked it, The couple just didn’t seem to have a connection with each other, ddlg shoes - pastel shoes - kawaii shoes - abdl - ddlg pink ballet shoes - ddlg pacifier - yami kawaii even when Tanisha kissed Nick at the end of the routine, And then the judges thought they were running out of time, so they almost babbled their comments, Mary did think it was “fun, fast and fabulous,” but it will be interesting to see what happens when they each dance with someone else next week..

One of the grand prizes this season, along with a wad of cash and the title “America’s Favorite Dancer,” is a small role in a Broadway show, a remake of “On the Town.” The musical’s choreographer, Joshua Bergasse, choreographed a performance of “New York, New York” as the opening number by the Top 20 dancers. At least, everyone got a taste of the Broadway show. And by the time the number was over, the judges had changed into their fancy dresses and suit.

Last week, the routines were terrific when the dancers were matched up with partners of the same dance style, but that didn’t last long, All 20 were mixed up with new partners for this and the next few weeks, Some were really good, some were OK and some were not so hot, and before anyone could take a step on the stage, the three girls and three guys with the lowest votes were announced, In jeopardy were girls Brooklyn Fullmer, Jourdan Epstein and Malene Ostergaard, and guys Casey Askew, Nick Garcia and Serge Onik, At the end of the show, one girl and one guy was given the heave-ho, but since none of us has a favorite yet (heck, I have a hard time remembering their names), that news can ddlg shoes - pastel shoes - kawaii shoes - abdl - ddlg pink ballet shoes - ddlg pacifier - yami kawaii wait for a bit..

I had three favorites tonight. Carly Blaney and Serge did a contemporary number choreographed by Sonya Tayeh. It was very intense and both dancers dug deep to bring out the emotions in the moves. Misty simply said, “Wow” and clapped, while Nigel said it was the first time he had seen emotional connections between two dancers. And Mary, with her voice breaking, told them, “Sometime we never know how high we can rise until someone asks.”. Although I didn’t expect it, I really liked the Argentine tango that was performed by Brooklyn and Casey. Both had been named to the dreaded Bottom Three, and both seemed determined to show that they should stay. Nigel said it was “absolutely tremendous” with “magnificent control,” and Mary told Brooklyn that until tonight, she thought Brooklyn was a young, cutesy dancer but tonight she was a woman and nailed it. As hot as she was, no Tamale Train in sight. And Misty praised the partnering abilities of Casey.

And last in my ddlg shoes - pastel shoes - kawaii shoes - abdl - ddlg pink ballet shoes - ddlg pacifier - yami kawaii top three, as well as last on the show, were Jacque LeWarne and Zack Everhart, When Sean Cheesman said he choreographed a dance about warriors who emerged from an artwork, I had lots of doubts, But from the moment the pair “emerged” from the artwork on stage, thanks to the fabulous painted designs on their bodies (yes, they were wearing tights), I was totally taken by them, from Zack lifting Jacque with just his neck, to the animalistic moves of both of them, Nigel said it was one of his favorite routines tonight and Mary invited the pair to be the first of this season’s passengers on the famed Hot Tamale Train, Whoo whoo..

Two pairs did not fare nearly as well, with their choreographers being included in the criticism. Jessica Richens, who was fantastic last week, and Nick Garcia were matched with Benjy Schwimmer, the Season 2 champ, for a West Coast Swing routine. I don’t know if Benjy thought that the pair were better dancers or what, but a lot of the moves were just beyond them. Nigel, in fact, said that “it was asking a great deal of two who had never done West Coast Swing,” while Misty commented that they were both entertainers. Once more, Nick was caught mugging for the audience while ignoring his partner.

Choreographer Spencer Liff created a Broadway routine for Malene and Stanley Glover that depended on working with phones that were attached to the stage with long cords and which both dancers held on to for the entire piece, Mary said that although she loved the concept, at about halfway through, she wanted the pair to toss the phones and just ddlg shoes - pastel shoes - kawaii shoes - abdl - ddlg pink ballet shoes - ddlg pacifier - yami kawaii dance, Misty didn’t feel any connection between the two, and with a sigh, Nigel said they both “got the wrong number.” He added it was very ’60s, but the style just didn’t fit either one of them..
