Theater launches crowd funding campaign. BRENTWOOD — The Brentwood Theater Company, producer of Broadway Under The Stars and Brentwood Teen Theater, has launched a crowd funding campaign to raise money to establish a headquarters. The group has launched a Kickstarter drive to raise $50,000. The Brentwood Theater Company rents performing venues for each show the company produces. While ticket sales, program ads and sponsorships provide revenue to put on a show, renting the performing spaces beyond the actual dates of a production is prohibitive, said Jack Gaughan, producer. A theater company needs a place in which to prepare for the plays, hold auditions, store costumes, props, set pieces and other show items and teach classes, he said, noting the group hopes to find an appropriate space where it can sign a lease with options.

“Once we open the facility (BTC Hall), we will continue to raise funds for the ultimate goal of building the Brentwood Playhouse, a performing arts space to host our multigenerational, multiethnic company and others that are hurting for an affordable performance space,” Gaughan said, “Rentals to other theater companies will help offset the cost of utilities and solidify and enhance our reputation in the pink crochet baby booties, ballerina shoe baby shower ballet slipper newborn bootees gift box photo prop first moccasins wedding performing arts community.”, Visit Kickstarter at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1702823012/brentwood-theater-company-needs-a-rehearsal-space..
