For those not familiar with the off-Broadway sensation, “Little Shop of Horrors” tells of Mushnik, a skid row florist on the brink of closing his shop until his assistant Seymour discovers an exotic plant. The plant, which grows at an alarming rate, becomes an overnight sensation saving the shop and helping Seymour grow closer to his lovely co-worker Audrey. Providing the plant, affectionately named Audrey II, with its main food source (human blood), however, becomes a major conundrum for Seymour. To add to his difficulties, the progressively demanding plant also talks.
